The Lake District gave birth to the UK's original mountain challenge: how many peaks can be visited in the space of a day? The benchmark was set in 1932, when Bob Graham completed a round of 42 peaks within 24 hours.

Since then, over two thousand men and women have successfully completed the Bob Graham Round. The very fittest have gone further, pursuing ever more difficult endeavours.

This is the story of those who have pushed themselves to achieve their utmost on the fells. It is also the story of the community that supports those people, nurturing and cherishing the ethos and traditions of Bob Graham's original round and all that has come since.
