In 1975 BROOKS was one of the first running shoe company to use midsoles made of Ethylene-vinyl acetate(EVA), which today is an industry standard. Founded in 1914 in Philadelphia BROOKS later changed its name to Brooks Sports Inc. and moved its head offices to Seattle. As a company they are committed to biomechanical research and are involved in conducting large retrospective and prospective studies on running motion designed to 'influence and refine' running footwear design.
