Gait analysis means looking at your running style and assessing how much your foot rolls to either side as you run, if at all. We offer in-store gait analysis to ensure you are wearing the correct shoe for your running style. It is a great tool for any runner, from casual to serious, as it ensures you are wearing the most efficient and comfortable shoe for your foot and can explain or prevent some running related injuries.
Our analysis is completely free and only takes around 10mins, we just ask you to hop on our treadmill for a couple of minutes while we record a short clip of your feet as they run. Using this and some clever software, we can analyse your foot through the gait cycle and see if there is any rolling inwards (pronation), outwards (supination) or none at all (neutral).
If you have your current pair of shoes with you, we can assess you in those and look at the wear pattern on the sole, otherwise we will get you in a pair of our shoes and then offer alternative levels of support for you to try and find the best one for you.
If you do come in store for an analysis, make sure you are wearing something comfortable to run in (we have a changing room if necessary) and that we can see your lower leg with (shorts or rolled-up trousers). This isn’t a workout so full kit isn’t mandatory! We offer this service through the week with no appointments necessary, just turn up Mon-Sat 9am-5pm and one of our trained members of staff will take you through it.
